description

The muscatel is a characteristic flavor of a few summer black teas of Darjeeling. It is the subtle tart notes of muscat grapes that the tea emulates as a consequence of a particular infestation. In a small window of about a fortnight, these precious leaves from only certain sections of the plantations have to be plucked and processed. This year, Castleton has made a remarkable tea that has fruity undertones which are raw with subtle peachy notes.

aroma:
Marked by notes of wood, peach and unripe tropical fruit
appearance:
Light Amber
taste:
The liquor is medium-bodied, largely smooth and brisk. It starts on a soft woody note which gradually grows big towards the middle and defines the flavor profile of the cup. Undertones of unripe tree fruit coupled with a subtle peachy note emerge at the back to add more variety to an otherwise oaky experience. A soft note of raw melons lingers on in the aftertaste.

Semi-hard cheeses, stone fruit, pancake, vanilla muffin
